FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol
It is an Internet standard that allows you to send and receive files, even large ones.
It is a technology that allows you to connect securely through the Internet to a “Storage” space in Colorzenith and to send or receive files containing graphic projects and images with the utmost confidentiality.
The use of an FTP server speeds up the time it takes to send jobs and saves transport costs for media such as CDs or DVDs
Before sending documents via FTP we recommend contacting Colorzenith to describe what will be sent and what type of processing will be required. The use of the FTP service takes place through the assignment of an Account (i.e. a name and a password) that will allow you to connect directly to the dedicated storage space.
After obtaining this information, the customer can download files with ease, directly from their PC or Mac, using commonly used programmes such as an Internet Browser or an FTP Client.
Before sending documents via FTP we recommend contacting Colorzenith to describe what will be sent and what type of processing will be required.
Colorzenith can read and process most existing formats. However, we recommend using files generated by professional programmes, such as:
– Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator) for image processing
– Macromedia Freehand for vector file management
– Quark XPress for page layouts
PDF, EPS, JPEG, TIFF formats are supported. PDFs with CMYK, Greyscale, RGB and Spot Colour components (e.g. Pantone colours) are accepted. The Spot Colours will be reproduced by simulating their characteristics as best as possible, within the colour limitations of the printers for which they are intended. Images and Graphics can be provided with ICC profiles.
For any information of a technical nature and for colour management or simply to ask questions about the digital technologies used by Colorzenith, our graphic managers are there to give you the right advice.
